Creating a Vhost

The virtual host (vhost) is a resource management concept in TDMQ for RabbitMQ, used for logical isolation. Exchanges and queues in different vhosts are isolated from each other and do not interfere mutually. Multiple vhosts can be created under one cluster. A vhost can contain several exchanges and queues. Producers and consumers need to specify a vhost when connecting to a RabbitMQ cluster.
Different business scenarios of users can generally be isolated through vhosts, with specific configurations made for different business scenarios, such as the message retention period.

Constraints and Limitations

The names of exchanges and queues should be unique in the same vhost.
Under a Managed Edition cluster, up to 20 vhosts can be created, and under a Serverless Edition cluster, up to 250 vhosts can be created.
After the cluster is created, the system automatically creates a default vhost named "/", which cannot be deleted.

Prerequisites

You have created a RabbitMQ cluster. For details, see Creating a Cluster.

Operation Steps

1. Log in to the TDMQ for RabbitMQ console.
2. In the left sidebar, choose Cluster > Vhost. Select the target region and cluster and click Create to go to the Vhost Creation page.
3. In the Create Vhost dialog box, set the relevant properties of the vhost.
Parameter
Description
Vhost Name
Set a vhost name (which cannot be modified after being created). It must be 1 to 64 characters in length and can only contain letters, digits, periods (.), hyphens (-), slashes (/), and underscores (_).
Image Queue
Enabling mirrored queues is only supported for Managed Edition clusters and is not currently supported for Serverless Edition clusters.
It is recommended to enable mirrored queues to ensure availability. Mirrored queues can replicate messages across multiple nodes in a RabbitMQ cluster, ensuring that messages in the queue will not be lost if a node fails (mirrored queues cannot be enabled for single-node clusters). Once mirrored queues are enabled, a default policy will be generated on the Basic Information > Policy page for the corresponding vhost. This policy applies exclusively to the corresponding vhost. 4. Click Submit to complete the vhost creation in the current cluster.

Following Steps

You can then creating an exchange and creating a queue in this vhost to produce and consume messages.
