To facilitate your use of Tencent Cloud Elastic IP (EIP), if you need a refund after purchasing an EIP due to any dissatisfaction, you can proceed with the following steps:
Prepaid yearly/monthly bandwidth subscription: EIPs with the yearly/monthly bandwidth subscription billing mode support common self-service returns. You can apply for a product return and refund. For the specific operations, see Returning a Monthly Bandwidth Subscription EIP.
Postpaid billing by traffic: You can apply for a direct resource return, but not a refund. For the specific operations, see Releasing an EIP
Postpaid billing by hourly bandwidth: You can apply for a direct resource return, but not a refund. For the specific operations, see Releasing an EIP.

Self-Service Return Instructions

After the self-service return of a monthly bandwidth subscription instance, once the instance status is changed to Released or Terminated, no further fees related to this instance will be incurred.
After the self-service return of a monthly bandwidth subscription instance, the instance will enter an isolation period and be retained for 7 days. If you fail to renew the instance in this period, it will be automatically released 7 days after the isolation period ends.
If the monthly bandwidth subscription instance to be returned is not being returned for the first time, the time interval between this return and the previous renewal must be at least 30 minutes. Otherwise, the return cannot be processed.
In case of suspected abnormal or malicious returns, Tencent Cloud reserves the right to reject your return request.
Some resources purchased in promotional campaigns are not supported for self-service returns. The specific support is subject to the display on the official website.

Common Self-Service Refund

For common self-service returns, the fees you have incurred will be deducted, and the refund amount will be returned to your Tencent Cloud account based on the proportion of cash and bonus credits used for the purchase.

Common Self-Service Return Rules

Attention:
Discounts or vouchers are non-refundable.
The refund amount will be refunded to your Tencent Cloud account based on the proportion of cash and bonus credits used for the purchase.
Refund amount = Current effective order amount + Effective unstarted order amount + Value of used resources.
Current effective order amount: It refers to the payment amount of orders in effect, excluding discounts and promo vouchers.
Unstarted order amount: It refers to the payment amount of future-effective orders, excluding promo vouchers.
The value of used resources shall be calculated according to the following policies:
On the day the refund is initiated, if the usage duration has reached a full month, the fees will be deducted based on the monthly bandwidth subscription billing price. If the usage duration is less than a full month, the fees will be deducted based on the hourly bandwidth billing price for the usage duration.
The usage duration is precise down to the second.
If the refund amount is less than or equal to 0, it will be calculated as 0, and the resources will be returned.

Self-Service Return Billing Rule Examples

Attention:
The prices below are for reference only and do not represent the actual prices on the official website. The actual unit prices shall prevail, which may vary by region, promotion, or policy. For billing details, see Billing Overview.

Example Background

You purchased a monthly bandwidth subscription general BGP IP instance in the Guangzhou region. The public network bandwidth is 5 Mbps at 17 USD/month. You used a 15 USD promo voucher to purchase a 3-month subscription.
The total amount is: 17 USD/month x 3 months = 51 USD.
The payment amount is: 51 USD - 15 USD = 36 USD.

Common Self-Service Return Scenario

Example 1: Refund after 1 month and 8 days of usage.
Refunded cash amount = 36 USD - ( 17 USD + 0.029 USD/hour x 24 hours/day x 8 days) = 13.432 USD
Note:
Note:
The hourly bandwidth price for the same configuration is 0.0058 x 5 = 0.029 USD/hour. 17 USD is the fee for a full month of usage, and 0.029 USD/hour x 24 hours/day x 8 days is the fee for the portion of usage that is less than a full month.
Example 2: Refunding after 1 month and 8 days of usage, with a renewal of 3 months during the usage period. The actual payment amount for the renewal is 51 USD.
Refunded cash amount = 36 USD + 51 USD - ( 17 USD + 0.029 USD/hour x 24 hours/day x 8 days) = 64.432 USD
Note:
USD 51 is the amount for the unstarted order. (USD 17 + 0.029 USD/hour x 24 hours/day x 8 days) is the resource usage fee.
