This document describes the usage rules and quota limits for EIP.

Usage Rules

An EIP can be bound to CVMs (including Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs) and basic networks), ENIs, NAT Gateways, and HAVIPs.
Dedicated BGP IP addresses: Currently, dedicated BGP IP addresses are only supported by the standard account type. The traditional account type needs to be upgraded to the standard account type to use them. For more information on the upgrade, see Account Type Description. Dedicated BGP IP addresses are only supported in the Hong Kong (China) and Singapore regions. For more information on the prices, see Billing Overview.
Accelerated IP address type among EIPs: You need to activate Anycast Internet Acceleration (AIA) to apply for it. Contact your business manager for an application.
Static single-line IP addresses among EIPs: Currently, the static single-line IP address type is only supported in Guangzhou, Shanghai, Nanjing, Jinan, Hangzhou, Fuzhou, Beijing, Shijiazhuang, Wuhan, Changsha, Chengdu, Chongqing, Shenyang, Xi'an, and Hefei regions. Support in other regions is subject to the console page. If you want to experience it, contact your business manager for an application.
Anti-DDoS EIPs among EIPs: Currently, Anti-DDoS EIPs are only supported by the standard account type. The traditional account type needs to be upgraded to the standard account type to use them. For more information on the upgrade, see Account Type Description. They must be used with Enterprise Anti-DDoS Pro and General BGP Postpaid BWPs, and cannot be switched to other address types. They are currently available in the following regions: Beijing, Guangzhou, Hong Kong (China), Singapore, Silicon Valley, Frankfurt, Tokyo, Virginia, Sao Paulo, and Jakarta. If you want to use them in the Shanghai region, submit a ticket for consultation. For support in other regions, refer to the console page.

Quota Limitation

EIP Quota Limit

IP Address Type
Resources
Limit
General BGP IP addresses
Dedicated BGP IP addresses
Accelerated IP addresses
Anti-DDoS EIP
EIP quota in a single region per account
The four types of IP addresses share the quota, which is 20.
Number of EIP purchases per account in a single region per day
It is 40 times (the quota x 2 times).
Single-line static IP
EIP quota in a single region per account
The static single-line IP has an exclusive quota, with 3 for individual users and 15 for enterprise users.
Number of EIP purchases per account in a single region per day
The quota x 2 times, with 6 times for individual users and 30 times for enterprise users.

Note:
For the traditional account type, when EIPs are unbound from CVM resources, each account can be reallocated with a common public IP address for free 10 times a day.
The EIP quota cannot be adjusted by default. You can use NAT Gateway and CLB to perform IP address convergence.
If there are special circumstances that require adjustment, the account must have cloud service resources of a corresponding scale and use them appropriately.
If the requested quota is high, the excess quota may incur charges. For more information, submit a ticket for consultation.
After adjustment, if there are frequent IP address changes or violations of applicable laws and regulations, Tencent Cloud reserves the right to revoke the quota.

Limits on Binding CVM

Starting from September 18, 2019 (include), the maximum number of public IP addresses that can be bound to a single CVM changes depending on the CPU configuration. The specific numbers are shown in the following table:
Attention
CVMs purchased before midnight on September 18, 2019 are not subject to the following limits.
If your CVMs are purchased during promotional activities on the official site, the number of public IP addresses that can be bound to these CVMs is subject to the activity rules.

Limits on Binding NAT Gateway

Each NAT gateway needs to be bound to at least one EIP to have the ability to access the public network.
Each NAT gateway supports a maximum of 10 EIP bindings.

Limits on Binding ENI

Each private IP address on an ENI can be bound to a public IP address (including common public IP addresses and EIPs). For the limits on private IP addresses on ENIs, see ENI - Use Limits.

Limits on Binding HAVIP

Each HAVIP can only be bound to one EIP.
