This document introduces the instance types of TDSQL Boundless. The current product offers two instance editions: Cluster Edition and Basic Edition.
Cluster Edition: supports two node storage types: local SSD disks and enhanced SSD CBS.
Basic Edition: supports only the CBS storage type.

Description
Cluster Edition
Cluster Edition is designed for enterprise production environments. It adopts a multi-node and multi-replica disaster recovery architecture to deliver high-performance and highly available database services.

Basic Edition
Basic Edition is a single-node database service for individual users. It provides full features at a lower cost and is suitable for learning and trial scenarios.
Note:
Basic Edition instances can be upgraded to Cluster Edition via the console after creation, but they cannot be downgraded back to Basic Edition afterwards.
Warning:
The Basic Edition does not provide high availability and may carry the risk of brief service interruptions. Enterprise users should not use it in production environments.
