Overview

You can manage the GooseFS client on the GooseFS cluster details page through the GooseFS console. For the concept of the GooseFS client, please see GooseFS Cluster Overview. The following is a detailed introduction on how to manage the clients of the GooseFS cluster.

Directions

2. In the left navigation, select GooseFS > Instance List to enter the GooseFS Cluster List Page.
3. Click the ID/Name of the GooseFS cluster that you want to manage to go to the cluster details page. In the left sidebar, click Client Management to enter the client management page.
4. On the client management page, you can add new clients or perform operations such as updating, restarting, uninstalling, and copying on existing clients.
Add New Client: Used to deploy a GooseFS client on a designated node. You can configure the following parameters, and then click OK after completing the configuration.
Client Attribute: Defaults to a regular client. After the write cache capability is enabled for the instance, you can create a write-only client, which is suitable for scenarios with higher write performance requirements.
Node IP address: Select the node to which the client needs to be added.
Mount Information:
Local Mounting Directory: The FUSE client's local mounting directory, used to access cached files on the GooseFS cluster, with a default value of /data/goosefs.
GooseFS Directory: GooseFS file system directory, i.e., the path in the GooseFS namespace, for example /0-aaa-int-1250000000/data. If unspecified, the default mount is the root path of the namespace, for example /0-aaa-int-1250000000.
Mount Parameters: FUSE client mount parameters. Default mount parameter allow_other means allowing other users to access; direct_io means enabling direct I/O. More parameters can be found in FUSE mount parameter list.
Batch Concurrency Level: Controls the number of tasks executed simultaneously (default is 1), suitable for batch mount clients.
Batch Failure Strategy: The strategy after task failure, which allows choosing to continue execution or terminate the execution of subsequent batches.
Advanced Parameters: Can be enabled as needed, supporting the configuration of mount users and JVM settings.
Update Client: On the client management page, select the client to be operated, click Update in the Operation column, and then click OK in the pop-up window. This is used to enable service process keepalive, so that the service is automatically pulled up when a node restarts abnormally. The GooseFS cluster automatically pulls up the client when a node restarts abnormally, ensuring client availability.
Restart Client: On the client management page, select the client to be operated, click Restart in the Operation column, and then click OK in the pop-up window. This is used to restart the client after an exception, and supports modifying the mount user, JVM parameters, and mount parameters.
Warning:
Restarting the client may cause service interruption. Before performing this operation, assess the impact on your business.
Uninstall Client: On the client management page, select the client to be operated, click Uninstall in the Operation column, and then click OK in the pop-up window. This is used to uninstall the local file system mount point. After uninstallation, users can no longer access cached files on GooseFS through the client.
Warning:
Uninstalling the client may cause service interruption. Before performing this operation, assess the impact on your business.
Uninstalling the client does not affect cached files that already exist on GooseFS. However, if files are being written to GooseFS when the client is uninstalled, the file write may fail.
Copy Client: On the client management page, select the client to be operated, click Copy in the Operation column, and then in the pop-up window, select the Node IP for the new client and click OK. This copies the current client's configuration information to create a client on a new node.
