1. API Description

Domain name for API request: vod.intl.tencentcloudapi.com.

Initiate complex adaptive bitstream processing. Features include:

  1. Output HLS and DASH adaptive bitrate streams based on the specified template.
  2. The content protection solution for adaptive bitrate streams is available in unencrypted, Widevine, or FairPlay.
  3. Support adding opening and ending segments.
  4. The output adaptive bitrate stream can include multilingual audio streams, each language comes from a different media file.
  5. The output adaptive bitrate stream can include multilingual subtitles.

Notes:

  1. When using the opening scene, the video stream in the media needs to align with the audio stream, otherwise will cause out-of-sync audio and video in the output content;
  2. If the output adaptive bitrate stream needs to include the audio of the main media, then the FileId of the main media must be specified in the AudioSet parameter.
  3. To use subtitles, you must first add them to the main media. You can add subtitles through the ModifyMediaInfo API or the audio and video details page in the console.
  4. Not currently supported: top speed Codec, watermark.

A maximum of 20 requests can be initiated per second for this API.

2. Input Parameters

The following request parameter list only provides API request parameters and some common parameters. For the complete common parameter list, see Common Request Parameters.

Region No String Common Params. This parameter is not required.
SubAppId Yes Integer VOD application ID.
FileId Yes String Media ID of the main media file.
StreamParaSet.N Yes Array of ComplexAdaptiveDynamicStreamingTaskStreamPara Adaptive Bitrate Parameters support a maximum of 8.
HeadTailSet.N No Array of HeadTailTaskInput Credits list, supports multiple opening and ending sequences, with a maximum of 4 supported. If this field is filled, the start time of the media specified in AudioSet and SubtitleSet will automatically adjust to keep synchronized with the main media.
AudioSet.N No Array of ComplexAdaptiveDynamicStreamingTaskAudioInput Multilingual audio stream parameters, supports a maximum of 16. Each array element corresponds to an audio stream in the adaptive bitrate stream. If you need to add the audio stream from the main media file to the output adaptive bitrate stream, you must specify it here. The order of elements in an array determines the order of audio streams in the adaptive bitrate stream. If the input media file contains both video and audio streams, the video stream will be ignored.
SubtitleSet.N No Array of ComplexAdaptiveDynamicStreamingTaskSubtitleInput Multilingual subtitle parameters, with a maximum of 16 supported. Each element in an array corresponds to a subtitle stream in the adaptive bitrate stream. The order of elements in an array determines the order of subtitle streams in the adaptive bitrate stream.

3. Output Parameters

Parameter Name Type Description
TaskId String Task ID.
RequestId String The unique request ID, generated by the server, will be returned for every request (if the request fails to reach the server for other reasons, the request will not obtain a RequestId). RequestId is required for locating a problem.

Example1 Creating a Complex Adaptive Bitstream Task

Transcode a media file (with video and Chinese audio) and package it into an adaptive bitrate stream, with extra addition of an opening scene, English audio, CN text, and English subtitle.
The main media has a FileId of 4424135347909043783, with Chinese and English subtitles set. The matching English audio for the main media has a FileId of 4424135347909043652. The adaptive bitrate stream Template is 220368, and the opening scene Template is 14591.
