Assume that an organization has two Cloud File Storage (CFS) instances (A and B) in the Beijing region. A is a standard CFS file system used for cold data storage (storage usage: 11 TB). B is a High-Performance CFS file system used for the organization's DevOps platform, with 15 TB storage. For file system A, a snapshot is manually created (size: 11 TB). For file system B, an automatic snapshot policy is executed once a day. So far, five automatic snapshots have been generated with snapshot sizes of 15 TB, 0.5 TB, 0.5 TB, 1 TB, and 2 TB, totaling 19 TB.
Total cost of CFS snapshots per hour = (11 + 15 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 1 + 2) x 1024 x 0.00002381 = 0.73 USD
Note:
The CFS snapshot feature only captures the changes made to the data since the last snapshot. The specific amount of data captured depends on the changes made at the block level between the current snapshot and the previous one. If the initial full snapshot in a snapshot chain is deleted, the system will automatically merge the data from the deleted snapshot with the subsequent snapshots and update the snapshot size statistics accordingly.
