When the origin server, EdgeOne edge nodes, and clients are distributed across different regions, the access segment (between clients and EdgeOne edge nodes) or the origin-pull segment (between EdgeOne edge nodes and the origin server) in the request path is prone to high latency, jitter, and packet loss. This document summarizes two EdgeOne optimization solutions for cross-region network quality issues: Chinese mainland network optimization (cross-border acceleration) and advanced origin-pull optimization. Overview
Cross-MLC-border Acceleration: This feature optimizes the access segment between clients and EdgeOne edge nodes to reduce latency, jitter, and packet loss for scenarios where clients are located within the Chinese mainland while the business domain and origin server are deployed outside the Chinese mainland, improving the experience for mainland users accessing overseas services.
Advanced Origin Routing: This feature optimizes the origin-pull path from edge nodes to the origin server to improve origin-pull performance and stability, and reduce latency and packet loss caused by cross-region origin-pull, addressing the poor origin-pull quality that results from cross-region deployment of EdgeOne edge nodes and the origin server.
