1. API Description

Domain name for API request: vod.intl.tencentcloudapi.com.

This API is used to edit a video, such as clipping and concatenation, to generate a new video on demand. Editing features include:

1) Edit a file in on-demand video to generate a new video.
2) Splice multiple on-demand files to generate a new video.
3) Edit multiple on-demand video files and then splice them to generate a new video;

  1. Directly generate a new video for one of the streams in VOD;
  2. Edit one of the VOD streams to generate a new video;
    6) Splice multiple on-demand streams to generate a new video.
    7) Edit multiple streams in VOD and then splice them to generate a new video.

For the generated new video, you can also specify whether to execute task flow for the generated video.

When editing or splicing a live stream, please ensure the stream ended before you operate. Otherwise, the generated video may be incomplete.

If event notification is used, its type is video editing completed (https://www.tencentcloud.com/document/product/266/33794?from_cn_redirect=1).

A maximum of 100 requests can be initiated per second for this API.

2. Input Parameters

The following request parameter list only provides API request parameters and some common parameters. For the complete common parameter list, see Common Request Parameters.

Parameter Name Required Type Description
Action Yes String Common Params. The value used for this API: EditMedia.
Version Yes String Common Params. The value used for this API: 2018-07-17.
Region No String Common Params. This parameter is not required.
InputType Yes String Type of input video. Valid values: File and Stream.
SubAppId No Integer ID of the VOD application. For customers who activate VOD services on or after December 25, 2023, this field must be set to the app ID when accessing resources in VOD applications (whether the default application or a newly created application).
FileInfos.N No Array of EditMediaFileInfo Input video file information. Required when InputType is File.
StreamInfos.N No Array of EditMediaStreamInfo Input stream information. Required when InputType is Stream.
Definition No Integer Edit template ID. Valid values: 10, 20. If not specified, template 10 is used.
  • 10: During splicing, use the input with the highest resolution as the base;
  • 20: During splicing, use the input with the highest bitrate as the base.
  • ProcedureName No String Task flow name. Fill in if you want to execute a task flow on the generated new video.
    OutputConfig No EditMediaOutputConfig File configuration generated after editing.
    SessionContext No String Identify the source context, used to pass through user request information. This field value will be returned in the EditMediaComplete callback and task flow status change callback. Maximum length: 1000 characters.
    TasksPriority No Integer Task priority. The higher the value, the higher the priority. The value range is from -10 to 10. If left blank, the default value is 0.
    SessionId No String Identification Code for Task Deduplication. If a request with the same identification code has been sent within the past 3 days, an error is returned for the current request. The maximum length is 50 characters. If this is not specified or left empty, deduplication is not performed.
    ExtInfo No String Reserved field, used for special purposes.

    3. Output Parameters

    Parameter Name Type Description
    TaskId String Video editing task ID. This can be used to query the status of the edit task (task type: EditMedia).
    RequestId String The unique request ID, generated by the server, will be returned for every request (if the request fails to reach the server for other reasons, the request will not obtain a RequestId). RequestId is required for locating a problem.

    FailedOperation Operation failed.
    FailedOperation.InvalidVodUser The VOD service is not activated.
    InternalError Internal error.
    InvalidParameterValue.SessionContextTooLong SessionContext is too long.
    InvalidParameterValue.SessionId Duplicate recognition code. Request deduplicated.
    InvalidParameterValue.SessionIdTooLong SessionId is too long.
    InvalidParameterValue.SubAppId Parameter value error: app ID.
    ResourceNotFound The resource does not exist.
    UnauthorizedOperation Unauthorized operation.
