Thank you for using Tencent Cloud Serverless Cloud Function (SCF). To focus on core product capabilities and continuously improve the product experience and service quality, starting from 00:00 on January 1, 2027 (UTC+8), Tencent Cloud will discontinue new resource creation for legacy runtimes that are no longer officially maintained and for certain features. Runtimes, features, and resources outside the scope of this adjustment will not be affected.
1. Features Included in This Adjustment
Feature | Adjustment | Recommended Alternative |
Node.js 6.10 and Node.js 8.9 runtimes | New functions can no longer be created with these runtimes | Migrate to Node.js 16.13 or a later supported version. We recommend evaluating Node.js 20.19 first. |
Custom Runtime | New Custom Runtime functions can no longer be created | Use container image functions to deploy custom languages or frameworks. |
Serverless applications | New Serverless applications can no longer be created | Manage functions directly in the SCF console and manage associated resources in the corresponding product consoles. |
AI applications (image generation) | New image generation applications, including StableDiffusionWebUi and ComfyUI, can no longer be created | Back up models, workflows, generated results, and configurations in advance, and evaluate a self-managed deployment solution. |
Agent applications | New Agent applications can no longer be created | Migrate to Agent Runtime and reconfigure API keys, sandboxes, and tool capabilities. |
K8s resource hosting mode | New functions can no longer be created in K8s resource hosting mode | Migrate to standard cloud functions in the default resource hosting mode. |
2. Service Adjustment Timeline
00:00 on January 1, 2027 (UTC+8): New resource creation for the features listed above will be discontinued.
Existing resources: Existing functions, applications, and related configurations will not be affected by this adjustment and can continue to operate normally.
Future adjustments: If any future adjustment affects existing resources, Tencent Cloud will publish a separate announcement and notification.
3. Scope of Impact
This adjustment affects users who plan to create the functions, applications, or resource hosting modes listed above on or after January 1, 2027. Existing resources will not be affected.
Although existing resources will remain available, legacy runtimes and features that are no longer actively developed may not receive ongoing capability updates. We recommend that you assess your dependencies in advance and prepare compatibility validation, traffic migration, and rollback plans.
4. Migration Recommendations
We recommend completing the following preparations before the adjustment takes effect:
1. Inventory the functions, applications, triggers, network configurations, dependencies, and billing resources affected by this adjustment under your account.
2. Select an alternative based on your business requirements and complete compatibility testing in a non-production environment.
3. Migrate non-critical workloads first, and then gradually switch traffic for critical workloads through a canary rollout.
4. Configure monitoring and alerts for invocation volume, error rate, execution duration, and resource consumption during migration.
5. Retain backups of the original resources and configurations. Remove the original resources only after the new solution operates stably.
6. Contact Us
If you encounter any issues during migration, Submit a Ticket to contact Tencent Cloud. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by this adjustment. Thank you for your trust and support.
